Senior Mentor Program

Page Scholars are partnered with Senior Mentors, adults from the community who volunteer to provide moral support.  Through phone calls, emails and casual meetings, Scholars and Senior Mentors discover common interests and form bonds.  This is a very important position at the Page Education Foundation. Although the number of Senior Mentors has grown, more are needed so that every Scholar can have a mentor.

The primary responsibility of a Senior Mentor is to help their Scholar partner develop his or her own mentoring activities as they work on their service project with children in grades K - 8.  Some Senior Mentors may be able to help their Scholar partner find summer employment or internship opportunities, but this is an additional benefit and not a requirement.

The time commitment for a Senior Mentor is minimal - at least one contact each month of the school year.  Some Senior Mentors meet their Scholar partners in person, some call them, some email them, and some do all three.  The time spent depends on each person and the degree of involvement desired.

Even though the time commitment is minimal, each Page Scholar and Senior Mentor pair has a unique relationship, and can be a rewarding experience for both.

If you are interested in becoming a Page Education Foundation Senior Mentor we would be delighted to hear from you.  You can contact our office at (612) 332-0406 or email us directly at
