“The Page Education Foundation ignited my passion for service in the community and guided me on my journey to becoming a lawyer.”

“I chose a career in law because I believe law is a language of power and provides a chance to impact the community. I saw it as a way to give back,” says Dr. Artika Tyner. She earned her BA from Hamline, and law degree, Masters in Public Policy, and Ed.D. from the University of St. Thomas.

Now the Director of Diversity and a professor of Clinical Law for the St. Thomas Law School, Tyner is putting her dissertation, written on legal professionals who promote social change, into practice.

She continues to be an active mentor to law students of color, and embodies the mission of the Page Education Foundation through her commitment to education and service. “I see mentoring as an opportunity to pay it forward because I was a first generation college student and law student,” she says.
