"The purpose of the Page Education Foundation is
to increase participation of Minnesota’s youth of color in
post-secondary education.  This is accomplished by using
role models and financial aid to encourage students
who might not otherwise pursue their educational opportunities."

History, Mission and Goals

The Page Education Foundation was created in 1988 with a simple but innovative idea—entice young people of color to positively influence younger children by offering mentoring and financial assistance for college in exchange for their volunteer service. That year, Page Grants were awarded to ten students who mentored about 100 school-age children. Since then, grants have been awarded to 2,667 students who have given more than 175,000 hours of their time to younger children.

The mission of the Page Education Foundation is to increase participation of Minnesota’s youth of color (African American, American Indian, Asian American and Hispanic/Latino in postsecondary education. We are committed to fostering educational success, encouraging personal responsibility and developing the potential of young people of color. We accomplish this in two ways— by fostering positive attitudes about education among school-age children of color and by offering financial assistance for postsecondary education.
